Beyond the hustle and bustle of events, my personal projects delve into the fascinating realms of identity and culture. I'm genuinely passionate about exploring how these elements intertwine within different spaces, and you'll find this curiosity reflected in the unique perspectives I bring to my work.

Nostalgia in Threads
Somali Elegance from the 1990s
This visual project serves as the inaugural chapter in our exploration of the vibrant cultural richness of 1990s Somalia, spotlighting the distinctive style and expression of Somali women. Through the lens of fashion, we aim to honour the resilience and strength of Somali
women during this period, showcasing the exquisite beauty of traditional Somali attire. Our debut stage captures the dichotomy between the traditional nomadic lifestyle and the burgeoning Western influence catalysed by the Somali diaspora. In a stunning contrast, two sisters grace our frames – one adorned in the deep, profound hues of black, symbolising tradition, while the other radiates in the luminous tones of yellow and orange, emblematic of evolving influences. The intentional contrast mirrors the clash and coexistence of these cultural paradigms.
To evoke the nostalgia of this bygone era, our photography editing deliberately cloaks the imagery in a haze, blurring the lines between past and present, capturing a sense of both temporal distance and timeless allure.
Identity in Focus
Exploring Personality through Style and Space
The aim of this project is to delve into the intricacies of individual personality and its expression through clothing and choice of location. By juxtaposing portraits of subjects with their preferred clothing styles and surroundings, the project seeks to uncover the unique intersections between personal identity, fashion, and environment.
